Review: Miniature Tigers at The Roxy Theatre *They were AMAZING!
Maybe the best performance I've ever seen at The Roxy Theatre occurred last Saturday when I went to see Miniature Tigers perform at the classic West Hollywood venue. Read more of my review below. I've seen a ton of shows at The Roxy, probably at least 15 or 25 and this was definitely in the top 3 best performances I've ever seen from indie pop band Miniature Tigers. I think Miniature Tigers have reached the point where their next album release, Cruel Runnings, will be highly praised, lead to national and worldwide touring of even larger venues and hopefully some radio play, especially with summer single, "Swimming Pool Blues" being so catchy and fun! I loved seeing this band live and even though I knew less than half the songs they performed, it was super easy to dance and sing along due to their catchy vibes and the singing duo of Charlie Brand and keyboardist Rick Schaier. The vocals were delightful, the instrumentals were upbeat rock-pop fun and it seems that everybody in the crowd got really into it, with much dancing and less arm folding to my delight! After seeing them perform live, I downloaded all their albums so I could keep listening to the songs they performed live. My favorites I remember vividly were "Boomerang", "Swimming Pool Blues" (my favorite) and "Sex On The Regular". Watch or listen to those three songs below.
