Review: FIDLAR at Echoplex

Short link
About 10 days ago I attended Red Bull Sound Select's latest LA offering, which was FIDLAR at an all ages affair at Echoplex. Read my review below. The venue was at capacity all night long, and Isaac Rother & the Phantoms kicked things off with their unforgettable combination of '50s era rock 'n roll and tongue-in-cheek humor replete with capes and spooky sounds. LA three-piece Cherry Glazerr had the crowd moshing with their lo-fi punk, performing tracks off their new album Haxel Princess. Fiery alt-rockers Cheatahs celebrated the recent release of their self-titled debut by playing several tracks off the album. Closing out the show was local garage punk outfit FIDLAR  played a raucous hometown show, fresh off of their tour with the Pixies. They had the packed house moshing and hollering throughout their set, giving them a real hometown welcome. Fidlar brings a lot of energy to their live shows and really got the crowd into it with fairly catchy hooks overlapping their traditional punk rock vibes. There were plenty of songs I enjoyed form FIDLAR but the most memorable was the raucous "Wake Bake Skate". Watch below.
