Mashup Monday: DJ Burnout, DOSVEC, 3LAU, The Hood Internet, Kap Slap
5 banging new mashups released within the last week. I can't guarantee our site posted any of these first but we always bring you the best up-and-comers and these five mashers below are no joke. First comes from our boy DJ Burnout with a bootleg which is Afrojack, Shermanology vs Congrock & Steve Angello. This mashup called "Can't Stop Babylon" has a smooth yet slow build-up but once the vocals kick in it brings this sexy electro rage style that's hard not to rage to. So DOSVEC took an unusual route by using vocals from a GLEE cover, "Dog Days Are Over" to accompany his latest mashup, "Son Of A Dog". The background is Oh Land's "Son of a Gun" (Jacob Plant Mix) to form a dubstep mashup that fans of GLEE and fans of dubstep and fans of mashups should all enjoy! Next comes a mashup DJ who is BLOWING UP! The guy I'm speaking of is 3LAU whose mashups really sound like originals with how he weaves all the stems together. His latest bootleg, "Action" utilizes Tristan Garner, Diplo/Usher, Gym Glass Heroes/Neon Hitch, The Wanted, Benny Benassi/Gary Go and Qulinez. If you like the 4-minute version, I highly recommend checking out the "Action" extended edit. Next comes my favorite live mashup duo, The Hood Internet. They release tons of mashups and not everybody enjoys all of them, including myself, but what makes them stand out is their live shows, producing skills and the fact they mix electronic and indie/alternative instrumentals with hip-hop vocals. This one features Snoop Dogg, Dillon Francis and Kill The Noise. So Nas stays relevant combining with Damien Marley, wonder if Snoop Dogg should collaborate with electronic acts when people start forgetting about him? Lastly comes Kap Slap, another masher blowing up. His latest features Skrillex, Katy Perry, and Zedd. Truly a BANGER mashup, "Breakin' The Doors" is a dance hit mashup that needs to be played at the parties.
