An Incredible Weekend at Coachella (Day 3: Sunday)
(Pictured Above: The Weeknd on The Outdoor Stage) Sunday was by far the most enjoyable day of the weekend and it was filled with a wide variety of incredible acts. Read my review below. I began my day with Santigold at the Main Stage. She is a great singer and even got many members of the crowd on stage with her to dance. I wish I could have been up there but she was still very entertaining to watch. Below is my favorite track that she performed. Santigold - "Lights Out": After Santigold I made my way over to the musicians institute tent where I watched Tic Tic Boom! perform for a bit and chatted with them afterwards. This was a great way to get to know a group that BeforeBigs.com has been promoting for a while and it was nice to be in air conditioning for a brief moment as well. I relaxed in the beer garden for a bit and saw Fitz and the Tantrums continue the party on the Main Stage. They were extremely electric and a truly a joy to watch. They praised the crowd for their strong support with a lot of a emotion. The Hives came on the Main Stage for a set afterwards to also bring much excitement. I especially loved the wardrobe of lead singer Pell Almqvist. He dressed like Abraham Lincoln (minus the beard). Below are my favorite tracks by the two rock bands. Fitz and the Tantrums - "Pickin' Up The Pieces": The Hives - "Tick Tick Boom": I then stumbled over to the Sahara tent to see Nero rock. I have just been getting into their music recently and was glad I got to seem them live. The crowd was completely into it all! Take a listen to what song excited me the most during their set. Nero - "Promises": I went over to the Outdoor Stage for the first time to see The Weeknd blow away thousands of screaming fans. I always knew he was an incredible singer but is even better live! There were a lot of couples in the crowd (which is not much of a surprise). However, it was still quite enjoyable. The Weeknd - "Glass Table Girls": I spent the rest of the night at The Main Stage where I was reserving a great spot for what was about to be an epic finale to a crazy weekend. Leading up to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, I saw Justice and At The Drive-In. I was a bit far away for Justice but the sound and production value were top notch. I was dancing away. At The Drive-In was another five star rock band performing on the Main Stage and they really proved it. The packed crowd was dancing and bobbing their heads the whole time. Justice - "Horse Power": At The Drive-In - "One Armed Scissor": Without a doubt the highlight of Sunday and the entire weekend was the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg set. That performance alone is worthy of it's own separate post so I will have that for you all tomorrow.
